Welcome to Brookside Youth
Brookside Youth is the student ministry of Brookside Church. Through relevant and engaging teaching from our pastors and youth mentors, our goal is to help our students become Biblically proficient, commit to God and the church, strive for moral purity, engage with their families, and become self-sufficient in their spiritual growth and development.
Oh yeah – and have a BLAST during the process!
If you’re a student in 7-12 grade, you need to make Brookside Youth a part of your weekly schedule!
On Wednesday evenings, Brookside Youth come together for a high-energy, engaging, and Christ-centered service. Students will have the opportunity to hang out with their friends and classmates, play games, worship, and build relationships with strong Christian leaders in our discipleship groups. Wednesdays are the start of our week, and they set up our discussions to go deeper on Sundays. Brookside Youth meets in the Youth Center!
WEDNESDAY NIGHT
6:30PM-8PM
In Sunday School, students will have the opportunity to take everything they have learned in both the Wednesday and Sunday night settings and put it into practice. Students will have the choice to choose between two different books of the Bible and join a group study into that book. These groups provide multiple opportunities for the students: the students will dive into God’s Word, read it among community, and then discuss their own thoughts on it.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
9AM-10AM
On Sunday evenings, Brookside Youth dives deeper into the lesson from Wednesday Night in a more laid-back setting. Students will have the opportunity to engage in Christ-centered community-building relationships, and learn to take personal ownership of their faith and devotional time. Students will engage in discussion groups led by members of the Brookside Youth Student Leadership Team, where they can discuss issues and biblical teaching with their peers.
SUNDAY NIGHT
6PM-7PM
CORE CONVICTIONS
Brookside Youth has three major convictions that we work to implement into our culture. We define culture as “the beliefs and behaviors of the people who are in our community.” So that means we are affecting our culture if our students start to believe these convictions and live them out. Our first and most important conviction is becoming and being a Bible-reading culture, second is creating a culture of discipleship, and, lastly, creating a culture of student ownership and engagement.
